About the Role

Are you passionate about empowering older adults and strengthening your community? Alliance for Aging is seeking enthusiastic Community Health Educators to lead engaging, in-person workshops that support the physical, mental, and social well-being of older adults.

In this role, you will facilitate evidence-based workshops (6–10 weeks) focused on Falls Prevention, Chronic Disease Management, and Healthy, Active Living. Workshops are conducted primarily during weekday hours (Monday–Friday) at community partner sites such as senior centers, assisted living facilities, and faith-based organizations.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a flexible, part‑time schedule. Training and all materials are provided, and you are compensated for each workshop you deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate interactive, educational workshops for older adults primarily weekday hours
  • Create a welcoming, safe, and respectful learning environment
  • Encourage participation and meaningful group discussion
  • Conduct community outreach to promote programs and resources
  • Collaborate with community partners to meet local needs
  • Collect participant feedback and program evaluations
  • Commit to at least one year of service (longer-term commitment encouraged)

Requirements & Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience facilitating groups or educational sessions
  • Interest in aging-related topics (e.g., dementia, chronic conditions, fall prevention, mental health, social engagement)
  • Experience in community education or outreach preferred
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with local community resources is a plus
  • Multilingual skills highly desirable
  • Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening
  • Reliable transportation and commitment to scheduled workshops

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to two hours at a time
  • Mobility required for in-person community settings
