The Alliance for Aging, Inc. is the designated Area Agency on Aging for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. Our mission is to promote and advocate for the optimal quality of life for older adults and their families.
We address the challenges of aging by helping older adults remain safe and independent in their homes, providing access to meals, health care, caregiving support, and a broad network of essential services.
Through our programs and partnerships, we transform the lives of older adults by helping them age with dignity, independence, and a higher quality of life.
The following are just some of the ways that the Alliance for Aging is helping our community:
- Through our Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), we provide a single point of entry for services, leveraging a coordinated network of providers, partnerships, and government programs to maximize impact.
- Through our SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) program, we provide free and unbiased counseling through a dedicated network of volunteers, empowering older adults to make informed decisions on Medicare.
- Through our Community Programs, the Alliance funds and provides quality oversight of home and community-based services to ensure that they are delivered in compliance with Federal and State requirements.
- Through our Healthy Aging Programs, we provide a series of workshops for the community to help educate older adults on important topics. One example of this is Live, Learn, Grow- a virtual social connection program.
