The Alliance for Aging, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging of Miami-Dade, announces a public hearing to which all persons are invited.
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Alliance for Aging intends to request a Direct Service Waiver from the Department of Elder Affairs for the provision of workshops under the IIID program of the Older Americans Act for the following services:
- Fit & Strong in Miami-Dade County
- Tai Chi Quan Moving for Better Balance in Miami-Dade County
- Chronic Disease Self Management (in English) in Miami-Dade County
- Diabetes Self Management (in English) in Miami-Dade County
- Chronic Disease Self Management (in English) in Monroe County
This is a public hearing to provide an opportunity for input on the Direct Service Waiver Application.

The Area Agency’s rationale for direct service provision is that the Area Agency ensures an adequate supply of such services.
